Job Description

Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this position will maintain personal functional responsibility over the Maintenance, and Product Services areas, to include reporting, spending reviews, auditing, and internal controls. Research and resolve inquiries for assigned functional areas. Month end duties will include journal entries, account analysis and account reconciliation for maintenance, sales, inventory, invoicing, freight, and open accounts payable. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for all conversion spending budgets, to include operations departmental spending, payroll and maintenance. Will analyze data related to sales and property tax liability, outbound freight and overall general financial controls across the mill including inventory observations and reconciliation. Investigate and report to Mill Controller or Assistant Controller any inconsistencies or improprieties.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and analytical skills. Prefer Excel skills to include pivot tables, filters, charts, and built-in functions.
  • Ability to adjust readily to change and adapt as needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate within cross-functional teams throughout the organization. 
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
  • Ability to identify areas of risk/concern in area of responsibility.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently.


Experience with ERP/accounting systems software, preferably SAP.


  • Bachelor of Science degree in business related field with sufficient concentration in accounting.
  • Five plus years of professional work experience in a similar capacity.


  • Masters degree or CPA.
