Job Description

Machine Operator Bar Lathes, Turrets - Sets up and operates Manual Bar and Turret Lathes.  This includes turning, drilling, reaming boring and threading parts to Blue Print specs.  Checks parts to insure they remain within spec throughout the job.  Puts tooling in turrets.  Cleans work area.

Heat Treat – Operates numerical controls that eject operation of heat-treating furnaces and baths that alter physical characteristics of objects.  Adjusts furnace controls and observes heater providing information regarding furnace and objects being treated.  Loads parts into furnace and removes after prescribed time to quench in water or allows parts to cool in air.

Cleaning Electro-Polishing - Cleans grease, scale, dirt and other foreign objects from metal parts.  Individual tends equipment that chemically prepares metal objects for electroplating and/or galvanizing.  Individual regulates temperature, chemical contact and/or other solutions held in tanks.  Individual operates sand tumbling device after inserting tumbling media and mechanical parts to be cleaned from foreign matter.  Dries equipment in rapid manner with pneumatic equipment and performs all duties in a safe manner.

Hourly Wage:  $23.50 – max of  $25.71( after 12 months)



  • WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate
         (Silver Certificate Level).  In addition, Silver Certificate Level on Foundational Skills of Applied
         Technology and Workplace Observation
  •  2 year A.A.S Degree – CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years machining experience in                manufacturing environment.


1) Proficient in blueprint reading and schematics

2) Proficient in basic use of computer
