Provide administrative and clerical support for the Pine Bluff Wood yard by scaling wood, managing wood inventory and shipments in Yard-boss. Scaler must also maintain files, work schedules, office supply materials/equipment, VPP documents and aid in filing. Scaler must also answer the phone and take messages then relay the information in a timely and accurate manner. Must be able to meet the public and represent Evergreen Packaging in a professional manner. Observe all incoming loads of wood for specification & safety rule compliance. The scaler position is also responsible for scale house housekeeping.
Must scale and inbound and outbound wood trucks scale boss—accuracy is critical
Must produce shipment tickets accurately as needed using scale boss
Must manage daily receipts & shipments reporting using scale boss
Must provide clerical assistance to Wood yard manager
File and organize VPP documentation
Comply with all safety policies & procedures
Keep scale house clean and orderly
Prefer previous wood scaler experience
Communications: Demonstrate excellent verbal,written, and listening skills. Clearly express ideas in writing and in good grammatical form.
Team Work: Possess a genuine intent to foster learning and self development within multiple high performance teams both locally and offsite. Understands one’s influence within the work group, and provides positive trends to the work group.
Technical: Demonstrate an understanding wood scaling, and has intermediate PC skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, t, Access and other MS Office Suite products. Demonstrates an understanding of scaleboss and basic reporting
Safety: Willing to be an advocate of work place safety. Must follow all rules and procedures
Problem Solving: Ability to understand problems in a systematic way, making systematic comparisons of different aspects or rational basis, identifying time sequences, and casual relationships or other
relationships, in order to generate solutions.
Qualifications: One to three years of Office or woodyard operation experience with an emphasis in inventory management, purchasing, shipping or accounting with an A.A. level of education, or other related equivalent work experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
