Job Description

We are currently looking to fill the role of Financial Planning Manager.  The successful candidate will oversee related fiscal processes for Evergreen Packaging with two direct reports.  The general responsibilities will include commercial analysis, financial model building, reporting, forecasting trends and managing other related projects.  This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer of Evergreen Packaging.


Business guidance and financial reporting ownership: 

  • Revenue
  • Working Capital
  • Capital Spending
  • Cash flows
Reporting ownership:
  • Creation and executive review:  reporting “storyboard” of items effecting financial performance, Evergreen’s MD&A and Evergreen’s Investor presentation
  • Monthly forecasting:  coordination with Vice Presidents on volume, mix and pricing assumptions, pricing analysis with procurement and commercial team regarding index assumptions, overall EBITDA bridge and analysis and 18-month rolling forecast completion and review with GEC treasury
  • Annual budgeting:  overall business unit coordination and development of timelines, coordination of board and paper budgets including volume, pricing, mix, and freight, create summary budget reporting packages for Evergreen and create and upload HFM reporting packets for each country
  • Business case development: creation of the proforma P&L, review of contract clauses and effect on the business and communicate and coordinate executive review of business case
  • Customer/Product analytics: displacement/mix enhancement scenarios to determine most opportune financial impact including end market analysis, operational efficiencies and pricing assumptions, “If/Then” analysis to prepare the business for future business gains/losses to help determine out best course of action under various scenario’s (i.e., major customer pulls volume; new customer volume needs, etc.)
  • Monthly Commercial Reviews: create commercial decks and lead monthly executive meetings regarding board and paper performance, competition, products and markets
New Product Development:
  • Model impact of costing and pricing assumption on new products
  • P&L completion and review of new products
Sales and Operations Planning:
  • Provide analytical and system support to S&OP
  • Inventory target and tracking
  • Dashboard reporting of current location of inventories
  • Proforma of inventory needs and arrival times
System Development and Oversight:
  • Liaise with IT for continuous improvement and enhancement of information technology related to financial reporting
  • Further IT system enablement to new areas of the business


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in progressive roles showing increased responsibility
  • Superior analytical and thinking skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability
  • Results-oriented, dependable, and personally accountable for work quality and timeliness
  • Ability to communicate articulately, confidently, and professionally across many organizational levels and effectively influence stakeholders
  • Strong interest in and capability in using information technology
  • Functional proficiency in financial systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
