Job Description

Reporting to the Manager - Manufacturing Excellence (ME), this position is responsible for coordinating numerous Manufacturing Excellence activities for loss eradication and product quality improvement within the business supply chain.  This position is also responsible for developing KPI tracking and Pillar implementation strategies in conjunction with the Manager –ME and Business Unit Managers.  Works directly with and provides skill development and coaching for all operators, engineers, supervisors and managers in the facility on ME techniques and Lean Kaizen events.

The successful candidate should be qualified with a desire to move into a future operational role within the company.

Specific Duties:

  • Works with the facility management team with Value Stream Mapping to develop target strategies for focused improvement opportunities.
  • Work directly with manager – Manufacturing Excellence to ensure the facility ME Master Plan and actions are aligned with the business strategy.
  • Aids in the development and implementation of 5S projects, standard work procedures, visual workplace, and waste reduction efforts.
  • Coordinates the development of the Pillar implementation plan, tracks progress against the plan and leads issue resolution.  Works with Pillar leaders to develop line of sight goals for pillar implementation.
  • Aids in the development and reporting structure of both routine and project driven KPI’s.  Evaluates progress toward KPI goals and takes action to ensure goals are met.
  • Facilitates Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Teams improving hourly participation and engagement in sustainable solutions. 
  • This role may require travel up to 25%.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, 1+ years of professional experience in Manufacturing preferred.
  • Manufacturing Excellence competencies including Six Sigma methodology, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen.
  • Green Belt Certification preferred.
  • Strong Analytical & Systems Skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and MiniTab.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing standards.
  • Understanding of continuous Improvement Process.
