The Senior Accountant performs complex accounting functions related to the financial processes, reporting, reconciliations, and key manufacturing analysis.
Leads assigned areas in the month-end closing processes, maintains the general ledger through monthly journal entries including accruals, corrections and standard journal entries.
Subject matter expert in assigned areas of the company’s balance sheet and income statement. Fully understands the activity of the accounts and makes decisions on the validity of the month-end closing balance and supporting documentation.
Manage fixed assets and construction in progress reporting. Maintains the mill’s fixed asset system including monitoring construction in progress, adding/retiring fixed assets, posting depreciation entries and coordinating the annual fixed asset physical inventories.
Tax - responsible for the preparation the mill’s monthly tax remittances for sales & use and severance taxes.
Develop and maintain reporting for selected weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual manufacturing analytics including sales reporting, budget attainment, production statistics and working capital.
Perform job functions with minimal supervision
Internal Controls - maintain the mill and EPI’s internal control policies and procedures, including self-reviews to test compliance with corrective actions, as necessary

Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities coupled with the ability to recognize problem situations, identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or solve issues.
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance, or a business related field with sufficient concentration in accounting
7+ years of related accounting experience
Working knowledge of internal controls
Experience with ERP accounting systems, preferably SAP
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate or advanced Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, filters, charts, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate within cross-functional teams throughout the organization
Effective organizational and time management skills to drive tasks to completion
3+ years of manufacturing experience
CPA or CPA eligible
