New Product Development Laboratory Technician Internship

Evergreen Packaging is looking for an intern to join our New Product Development Group which supports all technical aspects of our corporation. The intern hired for this position should expect to participate in standard lab practices including sample preparation, wet chemistry and instrumental analysis. Chosen interns will participate in proprietary projects which require a high level of integrity and strong ethical values. Confidentiality, accuracy, good scientific judgment, and a curious mind are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow all laboratory and plant safety policies
  • Assist chemists in day to day testing and analysis
  • Adhere to GLP as outlined in 21 CFR 58
  • Work independently with a focus on prioritizing tasks
  • Data collection and reporting
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed a minimum of 60 hours towards a Physical Science Degree(chemistry related is preferred)
  • Completed a minimum of 12 hours of Physical Science Electives.
  • Minimum gradepoint average of 3.0 overall.
  • Minimum gradepoint average of 3.0 in Technical Electives.
  • Able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
  • They should possess strong analytic and statistical skills, and have the ability to work independently.
  • Have a strong customer focus with a drive towards innovation.

Summer Electrical Engineering Internship

Evergreen Packaging is looking for interns to join our Canton Mill group to support the mill operations in all phases of the manufacturing process. The interns hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of paper manufacturing while using their background in electrical engineering and project management to work on process improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow all plant safety policies
  • Assist engineers in day to day project management functions
  • Cost budgeting/analysis
  • Process documentation
  • Field engineering work in manufacturing environment
  • Project scheduling
  • Data collection and reporting

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed a minimum of 60 hours towards an Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Degree
  • Completed a minimum of 12 hours of Technical Electives.
  • Minimum gradepoint average of 3.0 overall.
  • Minimum gradepoint average of 3.0 in Technical Electives.
  • Able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
