Job Description

We are currently looking to fill the role of Financial Planning Analyst.  The general responsibilities will include commercial analysis, financial model building, reporting, forecasting trends and managing other related projects.  This position reports directly to the Financial Planning and Analysis Accounting Manager.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partnering with commercial teams:

  • Maintain strong understanding of key business drivers, specific business processes and future strategic direction of the revenue streams

  • Identify areas of improvement to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency

  • Create, update and maintain various spreadsheets and/or reports for analysis

  • Supports monthly reviews and periodic business planning sessions. Involves evaluating financial and operational results, monitoring data and contributing to the development of key initiatives

  • Provide what-if scenario analysis to predict outcomes of various scenarios

  • Provide business unit senior management with the information needed to capitalize on growth opportunities

  • Develop and maintain pricing models for both Member and Nonmember pricing

Financial

  • Perform periodic analyses of variances as compared to plan, forecast and prior periods

  • Develop standard reporting packages that effectively inform direct stakeholders on key business indicators

  • Provide other ad-hoc financial and accounting support, as needed

  • Provide management decision support and performance management information

  • Assist with internal control audits as well as external interim and year-end financial audits

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required (Accounting or Finance)
  • 3+ years’ experience
  • Superior analytical and thinking skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability
  • Results-oriented, dependable, and personally accountable for work quality and timeliness
  • Ability to communicate articulately, confidently, and professionally across many organizational levels and effectively influence stakeholders
  • Strong interest in and capability in using information technology
  • Functional proficiency in financial systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Comfort with data and ambiguity, and an ability to delve into details and adapt priorities on the fly
