Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Technician to support our facility electrical systems and Maintenance staff.  In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the equipment by supporting Electricians on shift through advanced level troubleshooting.  This position will also be directly involved with equipment upgrades, through equipment improvement projects and obsolete equipment replacement.  Applicants must have an industrial electrical background with extensive troubleshooting to component level.  You must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical equipment manuals.  PLC experience is required, with a focus on Allen-Bradley and Siemens products.  Experience with servo drives/motors and AC/DC drives/motors is necessary.

The Electrical Technician is responsible for set up, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.  You must be able to lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify production electrical components, parts, equipment, and systems, while applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. Performance analysis of electrical devices and reporting on results. Create prototypes based on complex manuals.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as Electrical Technician or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing and circuitry
  • Familiarity working with various tools and equipment
  • MS Office and diagnostic software (e.g. PC-based)
  • Excellent physical condition and hand-eye coordination 
  • An associate’s degree or apprenticeship as Electrical Technician
  • Certification in engineering or electronics or relevant experience is required
  • Background in Printing or Extrusion is recommended

Additional Information


  • Maintain and repair all site electrical and electronic systems and equipment, through assisting Electricians
  • Assist team members in advance level troubleshooting of all site electrical and electronic systems and equipment
  • Determine replacement equipment for obsolete parts – develop, install and test new equipment
  • Assist in equipment improvement projects, from design and development of system to equipment install and testing
  • Be able to produce functioning results from electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals and engineering instructions
  • Be able to collect and analyze data for equipment performance studies, as well as report information as needed
  • Facilitate root cause analysis procedures for electrical failures
  • Work with Storeroom Clerk and Planner on spare part identification and storage
  • Be able to write technical reports and update drawings and schematics as necessary
  • Be able to collaborate with others on technical tasks
  • Operate machine tools (lathes, presses, etc.) and hand tools (drills, grinders, etc.) to fabricate or modify parts
  • Be able to use ammeter, voltmeter, oscilloscope
  • Competently troubleshoot drives, PLCs, servos, robotics (Fanuc), instrumentation, VFDs and other electronics
