This role is located in Pine Bluff, AR

Reporting directly to the Cost Accounting Manager, this position will maintain personal functional responsibility over the Power/Recovery and Pulp Mill areas, to include reporting, forecasting, budgeting and internal controls. The Sr. Accounting Analyst is responsible for running the month-end processing steps to generate target versus actual manufacturing costs and coordinating the completion of the monthly profitability report for Total Mill and by Business. In addition this position is responsible for co-coordinating the completion of the annual standards revision processing steps.

Essential Functions:

  • Research and resolve inquiries for assigned functional areas: power/recovery and pulp mill. 
  • Month end duties will include reviewing pulp and power data used to prepare energy accruals and reports, running the month-end processing steps, completing the Financial Comparison Report, the Key Operating and Financial Data (Keyop) report, and ensuring variance reports (PBVAR and PROFITPLANTREND) are timely completed and accurate, completing Power/Recovery and Pulp Mill financial packages, journal entries, account analysis and account reconciliation for energy related accounts, inventory revaluation, and any other assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for any pulp mill and energy related surveys internal or externally (US Dept of Energy, AF&PA)
  • Responsible for the timely reviewing and processing of steam, electric and natural gas usage and prepay invoices. Compile and submit the annual NGPL Pipeline invoice to steam supplier for reimbursement.
  • Coordinate department monthly chart package.
  • Investigate and report to Mill Controller inconsistencies or improprieties.
  • Identify areas of risk/concern in area of responsibility



  • Bachelor of Science degree in business related field with sufficient concentration in accounting.
  • Five plus years of professional work experience in a manufacturing capacity.
  • Working knowledge of internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems software, preferably SAP.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and analytical skills. Excel skills should include pivot tables, filters, charts, and built-in functions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate within cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; driving tasks to completion.
  • Preferred:

  • Public Accounting experience OR advanced degree
