In preparation for paper-making, wood arrives in the Pine Bluff Woodyard and is debarked and chipped. At our Canton Mill, we purchase wood chips to begin the manufacturing process. In pulp production, the fiber is separated from the lignin in the digesters. Both chemicals and energy are recovered. After pulp bleaching, the fiber undergoes the paper-making process and depending upon the end product, extrusion coating or other forms of finishing. Finally paper rolls are slit and wound to customer specifications and readied for shipping.
